5 Shot rule

5 shot rules.

The 5 shot rule is a essential to any video, it is the building blocks most video as it varies from different shots to show the surrounding area to the subject that is being filmed. The five shots are:
  • Close up on the hands.
  • Close up on the face.
  • Wide shot of characters surroundings.
  • Over the shoulder shot
  • And a final creative shot.
The 5 shot rule pieces the video together making the video 3 dimensional by showing different angles to the same scene.

This is a video I made showing the shots in sequence. However the video did not upload correctly and the files needed to re-upload the video have been lost.

Analysis of an interactive video (User Generated)

Title of video- my sexy milf (& old photos)
  (nothing inappropriate)

In this video 'Onision' (Gregory Jackson) has been sent a package from his mother with old photos inside. He is going down "Memory Lane" with his fans by showing us, as viewers the photos he has received.

The target audience for this video would be both female and male and between the ages 16-25 as he uses simple comedy with no real intention to offend anyone , by changing his swearwords slightly by adding the letter 'L'.eg "fluck"

The digital platform his video appears on is the Internet on a website called 'Youtube'.

The purpose of the video is to entertain his fans and maybe new viewers. Also to regain some memories of his own.

The technical qualities of the video is very good as the video can be adjusted to different settings to improve the video .The video itself is well edited and produced .The sound has no bad resolution and his voice is heard clearly.'Onision' has made loads of past videos and has learnt a great deal of editing .Overall the whole video is well made as the video had obvioulsy been compressed well.

By watching the video you can tell that the video is 'User Generated' , Because the video is styled like a 'Vlog' (video blogs). Also the title of the video is a little off putting even though the the video is mearly a man showing photos with a comedic twist, showing that it was clearly made on the spot. More so he is in the comfort of his own home proving he is not in a studio and video was not proffesionaly made and is in fact ametuer. However good the video may be , there is one more vital fact that it is indeed 'User Generated' , the video can realate to us as the audience.

However 'Onisions' video is advertised by 'Machima'.Showing 'Onisions' has been funded to make this video.

Title of Video - Trying to Kill Sasuke

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hv51Jmp6Gfw&feature=plcp

In this video,a cosplay (Dress-up for anime fans) group called 'FightingDreamersProductions' (AKA: FDP) have made a video about 3 anime characters from the anime series 'Naruto'.the character 'Sai' wants to be 'Narutos' best friend but 'Sasuke' is in the way. So 'Sai' wants to Kill 'Sasuke' but fails almost every time but at the very end he succeeds.

The target audience for this video is 12+ as the 'Naruto' series is commonly liked in that age group and also the series is unisex.

the digital platform this video appears on is on the Internet and on the website 'Youtube'.

the purpose of this video was to entertain their viewers with the simple knowledge anime fans should have to re-create a scene from the infamous series 'Naruto'(created by Masashi Kishimoto).

However the quality of the video is quite bad as the images are quite pixalated and the sound resolution is terrible as there is no wind reduction. The video is clearly 'User Generated' as this is highly fan-based .Also the video is poorly cut at each change of scene.Their has not been a lot of editing as its just a basic piece of filming. However the video itself has been thought out well and does entertain a lot.

Viral Marketing

Viral marketing is a method of advertising something with a small budget but makes it big. And travels to person to person because of its popularity.

Title of video- 'John West Salmon "Bear Fight" '

In this video 'John West Salmon' is advertising their food product in a comedic way of having a fisherman fight a bear for the salmon.

The target audience of this video would be namely aimed at 20+ age range but because its funny it can be aimed at anyone really.

The digital platform this video would be found would be on the tv and online.

The purpose of this video is to entertain and market a product.

However entertaining the video may be the video had been compressed leaving the video quality very bad as its very pixalated. The sound is good and the editing had been professionally done.

Title of video- 'Phil Collins "Gorilla Drummer" Cadbury'

In this video there is a gorilla playing the drums to 'Phil Collins' song 'In the Air Tonight' to advertise the chocolate company 'Cadbury'.Also the colour purple indicates that the advert will be advertising 'Cadbury'.

The target audience can reach to anyone from the ages of 5+ as children will find the video amusing as well as adults of both genders. Also all races can be amused by this video as it is simply a gorilla playing the drums. Any one who likes 'Phil Collins' music.

The digital platform this video can be found is on tv and online.

The purpose of this video is to entertain as well as market a product.

The technical aspects of this video is that it has been well made quality ,editing and sound wise proving the video was professionally made.

Interactive Video

Interactive Video.

Living in the 21'st century we are surrounded by new technology everyday. Interactive video is a very common, a use of images to grab the attention of viewers and interactive video is seen everywhere these days.

Interactive video basically means a form of video technology that we can control. For example the internet is a colossal interactive media platform as it structures all of the online interactive websites,  like 'Youtube' an online system to view interactive videos, as the videos can be controlled. (as in paused and played)

However not all is good as huge companies like 'Sony' creates most of these sources of interactive video and control most of how interactive videos work. And huge industries are in big confrontation on who can invent the better device. And to win the battle these companies use viral subliminal messages to entice the viewer with these messages to buy their product. These messages are seen in interactive videos called commercials/adverts. These messages are posted online and on television (both Interactive video sources) and fed to any of the viewers watching. The messages may not be Subliminal but most adverts have a huge impact on people by using images that may interest the viewer. For example if a person was interested by cats or  commonly liked animal the commercial can put their product next to this animal or anything that may come across as interest to the viewer, the person watching will be interested by the object beside the product and instantly make them want to buy the product.A very common ploy the media is to advertise the product sexually because sex sells (perfume adverts).

Another good plan that interactive video has done to help us is to make people the creator of an interactive video. This is called 'User Generated Videos' , This method is used most commonly on 'Youtube', An online platform of interactive video for people wanting to make their own interactive video. And 'Youtube' make this clear with their slogan 'Broadcast Yourself' making it a friendly zone for newcomers. Another form of 'User Generated Videos' can be found on blogs , a way of reproduce a persons views and thoughts via a interactive video that is all amateur and un-professional.

A viral video is a video that has been watched and sent to others all over a mass of space because of popularity. These videos tend to start out a user generated but because of popularity over a majority are then classified as viral. Huge companies have tried to make viral videos of their own because that way their products will sell better because of a popular commercial advertising their product.
