The BBC

The BBC

The BBC ( British Broadcasting Corporation) was founded  by a man called Lord Reith ( John Charles Walsham Reith) .

It first started as a radio company, they got their first broadcasting place in 1932. It was one of the only two in Europe at that time.

They started in television in 1936 but had to stop when the second world war started. In 1946 they started broadcasting children's television and then in 1967 they had introduced colour television.

Since then we have developed over time with loads of range of media that has come from the BBC, we even have television on demand online from the BBC.

The BBC do not include advertisement on their shows unless they are BBC adverts advertising other BBC shows. They use this so they don't have to pay to advertise other companies. However in some popular BBC television shows they have started to use product placement to make more money as the BBC has evolved into one of the most watched channels in Britain.

The purpose of the BBC is the inform British people about the most current news in the country and sometimes relate current news in their fiction shows. BBC does this to entertain ,educate and inform their viewers and listeners.

The BBC is funded by license fees that we as viewers and listener have to pay for the pleasure of watching their shows. These license fees come with our television licenses so some people may not be aware.

The key areas that the BBC operates in mainly Britain. However the BBC also has been broadcasted in other countries like Australia and America.

But the BBC is not all good. The BBC has had its fare share of scandals that have came with it. The most famous scandal that has recently raised is that one of the BBC's most loved child show presenter had turned out to be a child molester and people have only recently come forward with their confessions about it as Jimmy Savile had died of old age.

Evaluation (Music Video)

I would say I am very proud about my music video as it came out better than expected.I was going to do two music videos but I didn't have the equipment at the time. I filmed and edited the storyline for Madelenie. We decided to combine our efforts to make the video together.

The music went very well with the storyline as it was not too quick and pieced together. We didn't want to stick to the conventions of a stereotypical music video as we wanted to base it more on friendship than anything because everyone can relate to friendship. The story was to bring two opposite people together to create the ultimate friendship , by becoming one. I think we depicted that quite well in the second half of the video. However in the first part of the video its quite hard to tell that they are two different people, but not that hard.

The editing had to be quite subtle as the song was not to flashy neither was the story. So we embedded simple dissolves and enhanced the colours in some of the footage. But this did take some time as we were having some technical difficulties with 'Final Cut Pro'.But In the end the whole piece was edited to how much we could.

The advantages to the video is that it was simple, straight to the point but with a fun and interesting storyline. The disadvantages would be the quality of the camera and we really wanted to use the 'Clone effect' but it did not work out to well so we had to remove it.

Overall with the comments received I can officially say that the video turned out well and im highly proud of myself and Madeleine.

green screen

Green screen is a method of editing that cancels out the background of the original video with an image or other footage that you would like, giving the illusion that the person is in a different place.
The Advantage is that it is used in the film industry so that actors don’t have to travel to different places.
The disadvantages are that if you are armature it’s quite hard to grasp the concept of the way in which the method is executed.
Four good uses of green screen are that it is very effective, creative, simple method and makes traveling easier.

8mm

This effect gives the illusion that the footage is very old as it represents the 8mm look. You do this by taking some footage , slowing it down dramatically , adding some texture , make it jumpy and make the colour slightly orange to make it look like coffee by using tints.

The Annoying Orange Effect

The effect is used to mask an image with a moving image to make the image that does not move in certain places. Most people use their face to mask with an image of an inanimate object. I used the face of a 'Creeper' from 'MineCraft' . I used them because they have no real facial features. I used my eyes and mouth and said "Boom" as 'Creepers' explode on contact.

Slowing down in places

This method shown in the video creates a slick yet epic use of slow-mo in a certain area to enhance the move. You do this by slowing down the certain area and leaving the rest the same.

Key framing Text and images.

The key frame is method in which the manipulator of the video can change the position of video, text and images. You can use this tool by dragging the object to the desired place. You use this tool to make a more dramatic effect to make it move to any movement desired.
